Heidi joined Berks County Community Foundation in 2001 as the director of communication. She later became vice president for communication and currently serves as the senior vice president for programs and initiatives. As a core member of the foundation’s leadership team, she helps to provide strategic direction for the organization while leading a growing staff of specialized program officers. She also oversees the distribution of grants and scholarships from the foundation’s charitable funds.
Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Heidi was the manager of global communication at Exide Corp., where she developed and implemented the organization’s first international internal communication strategy. She began her career as an editor at SmartHealth, a custom publishing company for hospital newsletters.
Heidi earned a Master of Arts in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English/professional writing from Kutztown University. Heidi served the community foundation field as a member of the CommA steering committee, including serving as chair for the 2009-2010 term. She currently serves on the board of the newly formed Pennsylvania Association of Community Foundations.
