The Brush Up on Oral Health! campaign is a community-driven alliance convened by Berks County Community Foundation to turn the tide on our region’s oral health challenges.
With a diverse representation of leaders across many sectors – including medical and dental providers, educators, nonprofits and community leaders – the campaign team is committed to increasing the number of parents and caregivers who understand the importance of their children’s oral health and ensuring they can access quality oral health services across the county.
Over the next two years, the campaign is working to:
- Help pediatricians, family practitioners and dentists provide consistent oral health guidelines for kids under 5 years old.
- Increase the number of quality, affordable oral health services and programs across the county.
- Educate pregnant moms as well as parents and caregivers of children under age 5 on the top oral health care tips and help them access more quality oral health services.
By focusing on young children in Berks County, we’re catching them at the most vulnerable age for oral health issues, establishing healthy practices, and beginning to curb our region’s oral health issues.
We are accepting applications from organizations that will plan, develop, and/or implement collaborative efforts to increase oral health literacy and access to services and to identify and/or advocate for necessary systemic changes to increase oral health in Berks County. Applications will also be considered for programs that will address the oral health disparities for children under age 12, and in particular for those under age 5. Apply until June 30, 2018, by clicking here.
