The project was made possible by gifts of $24,516 from the William Penn Foundation, $20,000 from Berks County Community Foundation’s Met Ed Sustainable Energy Fund, and $1,000 from the FirstEnergy Foundation.

The electrician on the project said: “I saw the diversity of people who use the trail. People were using it at six in the morning to get to work, students were using it to get to RACC.”
