READING, PA (January 8, 2020) – A lack of access to feminine hygiene products is a significant problem among Berks County women and girls in low-income households and shelters.

So girls from the Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading are addressing this with a service project called “Girls Supporting Girls. Period.”

The goal is to collect thousands of products to distribute among shelters, social support programs, and schools in the Reading School District.

Collection sites during January include:

  • Goggleworks Center for the Arts (201 Washington St., 1st floor).
  • Berks Community Health Center (1110 Rockland St., Reading).
  • Reading Public Library (100 S. 5th St, Reading).

Consider donating or organizing a drive at your school, workplace, church, gym, or anywhere else that you encounter our philanthropic friends in Berks County.
