Funds are managed by our Health and Human Services program officer.

These funds were established at the Community Foundation over time by generous donors who wanted to improve the quality of life for residents of Berks County. Please share this information with individuals who may need support during this challenging time. This is just a sample of available funds. Margaret B. Moeller Memorial Fund

The Margaret B. Moeller Fund for Alzheimer’s Home Care Companions provides grants for families in the Boyertown Area School District with members who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia to obtain the services of in-home care companions, aides or other providers of respite care.

Susan E. Kraus/Robert W. Gill Fund

This fund is to assist adults who were once in foster care, lived in a Berks County foster home and/or were Berks County residents at the time of their placement in foster care.

B Strong B Rich Fund

This fund provides financial assistance for expenses not covered by insurance for Berks County residents who are under the age of 30 and have been diagnosed with or are recovering from a diagnosis of cancer.

Cystic Fibrosis Fund of Berks County

The Cystic Fibrosis Fund of Berks County provides grants to support the needs of individuals who have been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

Jess’s Sunshine Fund

Jess’s Sunshine Fund provides financial assistance to families who are Berks County Residents with dependent adult or minor children who have special needs arising from a long-term catastrophic illness or injury.

Arthur O. and Clara M. Schlegel Memorial Fund

The Arthur O. & Clara M. Schlegel Memorial Fund provides grants that support the medical costs for children who suffer from a diagnosed condition that creates a permanent structural or superficial deviation from the normal shape or size. The condition resulting in disfigurement (this condition may be congenital or acquired) in Berks County whose guardians cannot meet such expenses.
