Our Field of Interest Funds help you support a variety of broader causes with your donations, such as the arts, veterans, or healthcare. And we ensure funding is distributed wisely to organizations that do the most good.
FIELD OF INTEREST FUNDS
Grants address the most pressing needs in Berks County, as determined from time to time, and support the Community Foundation’s operations.
Grants help with non-tuition-related needs of college students who have an unexpected financial crisis.
Grants support the preservation and/or conservation of open space, environmentally sensitive land, and historic properties in Berks County, including, but not limited to farmland.
Grants support charitable and educational programs and organizations that help those who served in any of the five branches of the United States of America’s Armed Forces, National Guard, or Military Reserves.
Grants help nonprofits address issues that impact young people in Berks County, as recommended by the Youth Advisory Board of Berks County Community Foundation and VOiCEup Berks.
Grants support the arts in Berks County.
Grants support a variety of community health programs in Berks County.
Grants help animal welfare organizations pay for animal care, food, and medicine.
Grants support and strengthen projects or programs that address issues affecting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Berks County.
Grants support the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department’s property and programs.
Grants help Berks County’s public libraries pay for emergency needs and special projects.
Grants help break the cycle of poverty by eliminating or addressing barriers for Berks County girls and women who want to enter or re-enter the workforce or seek the education they need to do so.

Walter Hamm created this fund in honor of Pauline Levan Hamm and Gloria Longenberger Hamm. Today, the fund provides grant to support community activities in the township they loved.
Retired employees from local schools created this fund to ensure teachers in Berks County’s public schools have funding for special projects and programs that benefit the children in their classrooms.
The Poole family created this fund to provide ongoing, annual support to Berks Nature, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, the Reading Public Museum, and the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University.
Remaining members created this endowment when the church closed to continue their charitable work of helping children and seniors and reducing hunger in Berks County.
