Emma is the foundation’s grants and scholarships administrator.
She is responsible for accurately entering and processing grants and scholarships in the foundation’s online system (Foundant), ensuring awards are ready for payment by the Finance team. She also ensures applications are applicant-ready, assists users with technical questions, prepares reports for program officers, coordinates and schedules meetings, and supports special projects as needed.
Emma previously worked at the Lancaster Public Library, first as a Children and Teen Library Assistant and later as the Donor Relations Associate. In this role, she supported the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, including annual fund initiatives, planned giving campaigns, and grant writing. She also assisted with major gift cultivation and stewardship for individuals, foundations, corporations, and community leaders, while maintaining the donor database and coordinating with internal teams to support communications, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and organize fundraising events.
An Exeter native, Emma was born and raised in Berks County. She earned her associate degree from Reading Area Community College before transferring to Millersville University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Government, Politics & Law. At Millersville, Emma discovered a passion for research and evidence-based practice through the Center for Public Scholarship and Social Change. There, she collaborated with students and faculty to identify research issues, develop research designs, collect data, write up and disseminate results, and work with policymakers and practitioners to resolve issues affecting local, regional, and global communities.
One of eight children, Emma is extremely family-oriented and is happiest on the rare occasions when all her people are in the same room. In her free time, she enjoys reading, yoga, and spending time outdoors with her husband, Nathan, and their husky-mix, Juno.
