Justice for the Brave and Blind Fund
Justice for the Brave and Blind Fund will support the City of Reading K9 Corps for the acquisition and basic training of a K9 dog and a bulletproof vest for the K9 dog. If the City of Reading K9 Corps does not need a replacement dog, distributions will be made to an assist dog organization to underwrite the cost of an assist dog to an individual from Berks County who is suffering from physical impairment or a debilitating disease.
Julia Carroll Memorial Fund for German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue
The fund provides financial support to German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue, PA, Inc. to help offset medical costs for dogs rescued by the agency.
Pamela A. and Gregory W. Heid’s Fund for the Animals
This fund awards grants to animal welfare organizations for the direct support of animal care, food and medicine.
M. Virginia Ebbert Charitable Fund
Grants support the Animal Rescue League of Berks County and Safe Berks.
Darryl and Susanne Shoff Fund
This fund provides veterinary care to animals in life-threatening situations whose owner is unable to afford such life-saving care.
Pets in Need Fund
Pets in Need Fund provides grants for veterinary care for animals in life-threatening situations. Applicants must be residents of Berks County and be referred to the fund by their veterinarian.
The veterinarian will be asked to confirm that the animal is in a life-threatening situation. Any grant that is awarded to offset treatment costs will be sent directly to the veterinarian’s office.
