Allen R. Schutt Memorial Fund


Allen’s loved ones will determine how donations made to this fund can best benefit the community and honor Allen’s memory.

The Community Foundation administers memorial funds to help families who want to do something charitable in their loved one’s memory.

William H. Krause Memorial Fund


Grants support the surviving spouses or dependents of firefighters, police, or paramedics killed in the line of duty within the counties of Berks, Schuylkill, Lancaster, Chester, Montgomery and Bucks in Pennsylvania.

Richard L. Henry Memorial Fund


Grants support the Jewish Federation of Reading; Safe Berks; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; and Ronald McDonald House locations in Philadelphia and Hershey. In addition, the fund addresses issues related to breast cancer and visual impairment among residents of Berks County.

Fallen Firefighter’s Bravery Fund


Grants provide financial assistance to aid in the initial time of grief to the family of a fallen firefighter. Preference is given to the families of fallen firefighters within the geographic territory of an affiliated organization of the Tri-County Fire Prevention Associates, Inc. as it existed on October 11, 2000.

M. Virginia Ebbert Charitable Fund


Grants support the Animal Rescue League of Berks County and Safe Berks.

B Strong B Rich Fund


This fund provides financial assistance for expenses not covered by insurance for Berks County residents who are under the age of 30 and have been diagnosed with or are recovering from a diagnosis of cancer.

Russell S. Bickel Family Fund


Grants improve the quality of communications between health care providers and their patients in Berks County and improve access to palliative or hospice care to patients in need of such care.

Berks County Veterans Treatment Court Fund


This fund provides financial support to participants of the Berks County Veterans Court who have expenses not covered by other resources. 

Only Berks County Treatment Court Core Team members can apply for this fund.  The Berks County Treatment Court Core Team consists of a Berks County Judge, District Attorney, Public Defender, Probation Officers, Council on Chemical Abuse (COCA) staff, Treatment Access & Service Center (TASC) staff, Connections Work staff, Forensic Case Managers from Service Access Management (SAM) and YMCA Specialty Court Case Managers and Treatment Providers.  The Veterans Treatment Court Program also includes a Veterans Justice Outreach Coordinator who works for the Veterans Administration.

Voiceup Berks Fund


This fund supports the local VOiCEup Berks program, which promotes individual and community growth by connecting people and organizations with meaningful volunteer and service learning opportunities.

New Journey Community Outreach, Inc. Endowment Fund


Grants from New Journey Community Outreach, Inc. Endowment Fund will be distributed to New Journey Community Outreach, Inc. to support general operation of the soup kitchen and food pantry and other charitable activities of the organization.
