Russ M Becker, Jr. graduated from Wyomissing High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Electrical Engineering. As a professional engineer, he worked for Metropolitan Edison Company for 36 years. He aspires to assist Wyomissing High School graduates interested in engineering achieve their goals.
This fund will provide two scholarships a year to two students who are graduating from Wyomissing Area High School and who have declared and have been accepted into an engineering program at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be planning on attending as a full-time student and have a financial need in order to apply. Financial need is defined as a household income of less than $250,000. Applicants must also have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply.
Applicants must answer the following questions:
1. Why do you want to become an engineer?
2. What subject(s) did you enjoy most in school and why?
3. What field of engineering are you considering?
4. What are your career goals as an engineer?
Preference will be given to students attending the University of Pittsburgh.
The scholarship is payable over four years as follows:
Year 1: $3,000
Year 2: $3,000
Year 3: $10,000
Year 4: $10,000
The year 2 through year 4 payments will be made so long as the applicant maintains a 2.5 GPA, is continuing in an engineering program, and has sent Berks County Community Foundation a note on how they are progressing on their goal of becoming an engineer. This letter will be forwarded to the Becker family.
The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to the best all-around and best liked male and female graduating senior from Oley Valley High School as selected by the Senior Class.
No application is needed. This scholarship is awarded by a committee at Oley Valley High School, with consideration given to all Oley Valley High School.
The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Oley Valley High School who is entering the medical field.
This fund provides study abroad scholarships for graduating seniors from the Governor Mifflin School District who excelled in social studies during high school, have shown a keen interest in foreign travel, and plan to study abroad for at least one semester while in college.
No application is needed. This scholarship is awarded by a committee at Governor Mifflin High School, with consideration given to all Governor Mifflin seniors.
This fund provides scholarships to well-rounded male and female Wilson High School graduates who are dedicated to both education and athletics.
This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors of Reading High School who were active members of the high school basketball team and who are pursuing post-secondary education.
The Clayton Schannauer Memorial Fund scholarship was established in 2021 to honor the memory of Clayton Schannauer.
Clayton was a 2012 graduate of Wilson High School. He was a two-year starter at offensive tackle and earned All Lancaster-Lebanon League Honors his senior year. He exemplified hard work, honor, trust, dependability, respect, and determination. He was the ultimate team player.
This fund will provide a scholarship to a graduating senior who played Wilson football who possesses the qualities exemplified by Clayton Schannauer.
No application is needed. This scholarship is awarded by the Wilson Football staff. The staff will nominate the scholarship winner based on their observations of the player.
This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors from a Berks County high school who will be pursuing their education in performing arts, entertainment, or sports management.

This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors from Antietam School District who will be attending a college or university and will be majoring in education.
This fund provides loans to Conrad Weiser Area High School graduates for accredited post-high school courses that will further their education.
