Brad R. Small, FIC, is a Conrad Weiser graduate and a native of Robesonia. Throughout his years at Conrad Weiser, he was actively involved in basketball, soccer and various extracurricular activities. Other activities he was involved in were volunteering and mentoring through the National Honor Society and Student Council. After graduating from Conrad Weiser High School, he attended Elizabethtown College where his passion for leadership development and mentoring took form in a more concrete way. Throughout his four years at Elizabethtown, he mentored and tutored students at the local high school while also mentoring students at a local church in Robesonia. This is where he found the vision for this scholarship.
Small currently owns Small Steps Management Group, LLC. After joining the workforce as an entrepreneur, Small saw the importance of being proactively involved with the community. Out of this commitment to the community and past volunteerism, a committee was formed of local business professionals, teachers and administrators to create and carry out a scholarship program. This scholarship is the beginning of a community partnership in nurturing and stimulating young individuals to help them find and follow their professional dreams.
The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to seniors in Conrad Weiser School District who will be furthering their education after high school. Further education may include a four-year or two-year college or university as well as a trade school or vocational school. The selected individuals will be students who exhibit a thirst for continued knowledge and education. The recipients should be proactively involved in school, community, family or work-related activities. These individuals demonstrate leadership by example. They persevere through obstacles that get in their way of furthering and bettering themselves because of their strong desire for personal growth. This scholarship is not based on financial need.
