Grants Support Community Organizations in Albany Township, PA

July 6, 2023

READING, PA (July 6, 2023) – Berks County Community Foundation recently notified the recipients of the 2023 grants from the Albany Township Tomorrow Fund.

The Albany Township Tomorrow Fund provides grants for community-minded organizations and initiatives that benefit the residents of Albany Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, with a preference given to programs related to youth education and advancement.

The following grants were awarded:

  • $2,474 was awarded to Friend, Inc. Community Services. This grant will fund an online ordering and delivery system for a local food pantry. The goal of this project is to eliminate barriers and stigmas that prevent individuals from visiting their local food pantry, which will ultimately reduce hunger in the area. “This supplementation can allow a family’s limited finances to be directed away from all of the food it would normally buy to other critical needs, thereby reducing financial pressure elsewhere,” says Jim Reece of Friend, Inc.
  • $2,474 was awarded to Kempton Fire Company for its community CPR training. The Kempton Fire Company will host multiple CPR classes free of charge to Albany Township residents. Those that participate will earn a Heartsaver certificate through the American Heart Association which is valid for two years. Funding will specifically pay for CPR training equipment such as manikins and AED trainers.

The Albany Township Tomorrow Fund accepts applications annually from February 1 – March 15.
