Heidi joined Berks County Community Foundation in 2001 as the director of communication. She later became vice president for communication and currently serves as the senior vice president for programs and initiatives.
Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Heidi was the manager of global communication at Exide Corp., where she developed and implemented the organization’s first international internal communication strategy. She began her career as an editor at SmartHealth, a custom publishing company for hospital newsletters.
Heidi earned a Master of Arts in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English/professional writing from Kutztown University. Heidi has served the community foundation field as a member of the CommA steering committee, including serving as chair for the 2009-2010 term.
Before accepting the grantmaking role at the foundation, Heidi served on the program committee for the community information site and television station bctv.org, on the advisory committee for the communication major at Penn State Berks, and as vice chair of the Reading Public Library board of trustees.
