Kevin is always happy to chat about ways to promote philanthropy and improve the quality of life for the residents of Berks County, particularly through institutional partnerships and community initiatives.
Kevin joined the Community Foundation as its first employee in 1994. As president, Kevin is chief executive officer of the corporation. He supervises the business and operations of the foundation and serves on its board of directors.
Kevin is a past chair of the board of directors of the Washington D.C.-based Council on Foundations. He also co-chaired the national search for the Council on Foundation’s chief executive officer in 2012.
Previously, Kevin served two terms as president of Community Foundations for Pennsylvania, and as chair of the board of directors of The Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities.
In 2001, Kevin was selected as a German Marshall Foundation Transcontinental Fellow to serve as a consultant to the Togliatti Community Foundation in Togliatti, Russia. He worked with philanthropic organizations in Russia and has returned to that country on several occasions to continue the exchange.
Before entering philanthropy, Kevin served as Special Assistant to the Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging. After leaving the Department of Aging, Kevin worked as a consultant in the long-term care industry.
A State College native, Kevin graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication and Business. He holds a master of science degree in community leadership from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
