This fund was established at Berks County Community Foundation in 2008 through the Estate of Ralph H. Moyer.

The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to Berks County Youth (18-30 years of age at time of application) who are pursuing post-secondary education for vocational or technical training , i.e. developing a skill/expertise in a specific field of study, forgoing the general education courses associated with some post-secondary programs. Some examples of vocational or technical education are: HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, practical nursing, medical secretary, industrial maintenance, dental hygienist. *This opportunity is not eligible for the student who is pursuing a 4-year bachelor’s degree.*

Applicants must be Berks County residents who are at least 18 years of age but no older than 30 years of age at time of application and have a financial need. Awards may be used to pay toward tuition, books, application fees, tools, equipment, or clothing required for the program. Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled in a Trade Prep Certificate Program or an Apprenticeship Program. Students may reapply in a subsequent year.

To be considered for this scholarship, apply between January 15th and March 15th. All applicants will be notified in May.
