Kim manages education-related grantmaking and initiative work, as well as 130 different scholarship opportunities.
As the Community Foundation’s Lifelong Learning Program Officer, Kim coordinates all stages of the scholarship distribution process, from application to payment, and everything in between. She also manages a number of funds with various education-based priorities. Her initiative work keeps her aware of educational challenges and triumphs in Berks County and beyond.
With a strong background in education and community engagement, Kim joined the Community Foundation after ten years with the Reading Public Library (RPL). Serving the public in various positions – including Children’s Library Assistant, Early Literacy Outreach Specialist, and Senior Outreach Coordinator – gave Kim the opportunity to connect with library patrons of all ages. Before her role at the RPL, Kim taught Pre-Kindergarten for four years.
Born and raised in Berks County, Kim earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Alvernia University. She credits her second-grade teacher for inspiring her to become an educator.
Outside of the office, Kim enjoys taking Zumba classes, reading, going to the movies, baking, and spending time with her tuxedo kitties, Michonne and Clarice.
